SYLLABLE READY TO STRIKE AT TAMWORTH
Sunday, 27 Sep 2026

Holly Williams Racing heads to Tamworth tomorrow with Donovan Dillon aboard two runners, including promising three-year-old filly Syllable, who will be looking to break through for her maiden victory.
A Group One-winning South African jockey, Dillon has made Australia home and is quickly making his mark across the state, racking up winners and building a strong reputation in the saddle.
He sticks with Syllable after an eye-catching first-up performance. Drawn barrier 12, the filly was forced to work early to cross before being given a breather, only to be asked to accelerate again later in the race.
Still racing greenly in the straight, Syllable was eventually run down late to finish a terrific second.
A $40,000 January Magic Millions purchase from renowned Evergreen Stud, the filly impressed her breeders so much that they elected to retain a major share in her. She is raced in partnership with a syndicate of loyal Holly Williams Racing supporters.
Tomorrow she gets a much better barrier, has the benefit of that first-up run under her belt and retains the services of Dillon. The ingredients are there for another big performance.
Dillon will also partner Famahan in Race 5, a horse who boasts a strong record at both the track and distance.
Famahan was an unlucky second at his last start at Tamworth, covering plenty of ground after drawing an awkward barrier. Tomorrow he gets a 3kg weight relief and a much kinder draw, giving him the opportunity to settle closer and enjoy a more economical run.
With Dillon aboard both runners, Holly Williams Racing will be hoping the Tamworth double can produce plenty of excitement.
